Having worked in part time catering roles from the age of 12, Sarah’s natural progression once leaving school was to head to Exeter College’s Catering School and continue to Oxford Brookes University where she completed her HCIMA (now Institute of Hospitality).
Sarah spent two years as a Trainee Manager covering all departments within various 3* and 4* hotels throughout the country, before becoming an Assistant Manager in London. Her later move to Hilton saw her quickly move through the Sales Office – Sales Co-ordinator, Marketing Executive and Sales Manager, before returning to the West Country to take up the role of Sales & Marketing Manager at Taunton’s Castle Hotel, later joining the Board of Directors, not only for the hotel, but also for Destination Management Company – Visit Somerset.
After 18 years, Sarah felt she needed a new challenge, and was approached by a past General Manager, now Chairman of HOST, to assist in driving his new business, where she has been increasing revenues since.

Design & Digital
Working as a kitchen porter at age 14, Lorrie progressed to a restaurant management position by age 18 before moving on to pursue a degree in Mass Media Communications & Journalism at the University of North Carolina.
Having a keen interest in technology, Lorrie taught herself how to repair computers and develop websites. The hobby became a full-time occupation by 1999 when she worked as a Systems Analyst for MultiMax in Virginia Beach, then a System Administrator for Trader Publishing Group in Norfolk, Virginia.
In 2005, Lorrie relocated to the UK to work as a freelance journalist and web developer in London, creating and managing websites for Aegis Media Group and Rentokil Initial as well as providing editorial content and features for a rapidly growing portfolio of online and print publications. She and her partner moved to Somerset in 2007. Not long after, she accepted a position as Web & Design Manager for the Castle Hotel in Taunton, then progressed to Head of Sales & Marketing and served as a board member for Destination Management Company – Visit Somerset.
Lorrie’s skillset includes:

I worked with Sarah and Lorrie for over 10 years at The Castle Hotel, Taunton and for a number of these years Sarah and I both sat on the board.
